How I alodine my Sonex parts

This is the process I use to alodine my parts. I picked this up from some RV site some time ago.
1st - wash parts with Dawn and rinse, 2nd - place in Aluiprep tub (lightly brush 2 min), 3rd - Rinse in water tub, 4th - Place in Alodine tub ( 2 ~ 3  min), 5th - Rinse again then dry with air hose or in sunlight to remove water - 6th - Assemble parts
Then there is the clean up --  and putting the chemicals back into their containers and disposing of the rinse water (properly).

I have several different size shapes and size tubs. I even used a Rain gutter to do the Spar Caps.

1st - I use Dawn dishwashing detergent to wash each part using gloves as not to leave oil from by hands.

2nd - Wash each part in Aluiprep 33- (This is nasty stuff use a good resporator)

Parts before alodine process

Alodine 1203 - There are (2) types colored and clear. I am using the colored, gives the parts a golden color.

I use (2) water tubs for rinceing parts (a). after Aluiprep, and (b) after Alodine

3rd Rince parts in water after the Acid and 4th place in tub with alodine - 2~ 3 min. Then 5th rince in Water again

Parts after alodine.

Spray with Air hose prior to assembly or let set overnight to evaporate water.
