These are some of the hand and Air tools I am using to build my Sonex


 

Andy Snips - A Must !!

Deburr tools - Top one for edges, bottom for holes

Hand Riveter

Files and files and files of various shapes ans sizes. Bottom one is a Vixen file

Measuring sticks of all sizes, down to 1/64th.

(2) squares

Plastic clamps

Metal "C" clamps - you will never have to many. I have 12, most small like this but a couple larger ones also.

Small nose vice grips - to grab those rivets when you need to drill them out

Cleicos Pliers and plenty of cleicos - the rest are on the plane

Dead Blow Hammer - 5 lbs

Air Drill - 90 degree - Harbor Freight

Air Grinder (Harbor Freight) with Flapper wheel

Pop Rivet Gun - Harbor Freight. Not the "Aircraft" one. It works fine. Had purchased another brand but it broke after 2 months.

These are drill stops - slide on drill bits so you won't drill to deep

This is a Deburr Drill, it has a small blade at the tip - not as good as the Hand tool but can get into small places "Expensive"

Hack Saw - I just bought a new onw at SEARS, This is a Stanley

Miter bopx and saw for cutting angle Stock - reinforce with wood blocks & Clamp down (clamp not shown)

Center punch - a Must!!

Flange Pliers

Square and protractor for measuring angles

Scribe- removed metal pointer and replaced it with Sharpie pen. Good for marking centerline of Ribs, etc.

various color and sizes of Sharipe Pens - Blue for marking , Red for Caution, Green for other things, Black for Part Numbers

Fluting Pliers - I had the plastic ones but they broke

Metal working Hammers

this is a wood JIG I made to drill holes in piano hinges

Calipers - Thers are from Harbor Freight (Measure AL thickness, etc)

Dimple die set - various sizes (for SPAR and leading edge of wing)

Micro stop and countersinc bits - must for SPAR

Step Drills - good to have

sheet metal forming tools (used to take out creases)
